Killer cop Johannes Mehserle was sentenced to the minimum two years in prison with time served credit (146 days). This means he will likely be out in less than a year, with all of California’s early kick-out regulations. This judge also ordered a new trial on the gun enhancement, which would have added up to 12 additional years to the sentence. Only in America! Murder and get less than a year in prison.
You may recall, last year, when Mr. Antavio Johnson, of Lakeland, FL, got two years in prison for making a rap song called “Kill Me A Cop.” In other words, if we talk about it, we get two years. If they DO IT, they get two years. Guess we should all be used to this by now.
Let’s just hope brothers and sisters in Oakland have graduated from the mind-control, MLK proposition of “destroy your own stuff” when you’re angry at this country, and not fight the real enemy. The California government already got one victory today…giving them a minstrel show by destroying our own community would just be the cherry on top for this government. If you want to riot, why not find Mehserle’s neighborhood (or Judge Robert Perry’s for that matter) and do it there.

Killer Cop Johannes Mehserle has just finished shedding the most phony tears likely in U.S. court history. For about 10 minutes, he apologized to Mr. Grant’s family, while crying. Mehserle is obviously crying not because he’s sorry, but because he was caught on tape murdering a young man and in the next few hours, could be sentenced to 14 years in prison. Mr. Grant’s family has also given victim’s impact statements. We’ll continue updating here and on Twitter.

Here is the latest: L.A. County Judge Robert Perry seems to be sympathizing with the killer cop, Johannes Mehserle, as he stated in court that he is “troubled” by the jury verdict (the manslaughter conviction) and the gun enhancement on the conviction (since a gun was used, Mehserle could get 14 years). Mehserle faces up to 14 years in prison, or as little as probation. Mehserle’s attorney, Michael Rains, has also argued a motion for a new trial, citing new evidence from a similar case in Kentucky and because the jury was given faulty instructions pertaining to the manslaughter charge (note: Mehserle was facing a murder charge, but was convicted of the lesser “involuntary manslaughter.”
All signs are pointing to less than one year in a county jail, probation, or a new trial. We will update as soon as we learn more and of course, when (if) the sentencing happens.
