How many Americans will have to die at the hands of the so-called “non-lethal” force electrocution toy cops use, known as “Tasers,” before Congress does something about it? Apparently 334 Taser-related deaths (90 percent of which involved unarmed American citizens) between 2001-2008 is not a significant enough number for this government to give a damn. So far this year, there have been 24 Taser-related deaths in the USA; part of the “we don’t really care” mantra from Congress may stem from the fact at least 50 percent of these murders have “black” male victims. Mr. Jamaal Valentine is one of the latest.

It was May 17 when Mr. Valentine apparently was suffering some sort of chest pains or discomfort. He was staggering around the street, and flagged down Mr. Keith Pope, who happened to be driving by. According to Pope, Valentine asked him to call for help because he thought he was suffering a heart attack. Pope, being a good samaritan, called  911. But instead of an ambulance showing up, three thug La Marque cops, Richard Garcia, Forrest Gandy, and Mike Keleman, showed up in full monkey mode, and tried to arrest Mr. Valentine instead of getting him an ambulance. According to the “police report,” Mr. Valentine “fought” with the three thugs and “reached for one of their guns.” One of the thugs electrocuted Mr. Valentine with his death toy, and it was only then the thugs called for an ambulance. Mr. Valentine died a short time later at the hospital.

Of course, all three thug cops are now enjoying a paid vacation (aka “paid administrative leave”), while Mr. Valentine’s family demands answers. Galveston County District Attorney Kurt Sistrunk says he will forward the case to a grand jury sometime in August, but sounds as if he will not recommend any charges be brought against the three thugs. The county medical examiner, at Sistrunk’s request, refuses to release the autopsy results, likely to cover the fact Mr. Valentine died from electrocution. When Mr. Pope, the man who witnessed the entire incident, was asked whether Mr. Valentine posed a threat to the cops, he answered with one word: “no.”

The D.A. can spare us all the kangaroo grand jury proceedings, as we all know that NO CHARGES will be brought against the thug cops because “they were just doing their jobs.” In the meantime, Mr. Valentine’s two young children no longer have a father; and his mother and step-father, Troy Terrell, no longer have their son. This murder once again shows that police are not here to “protect and serve,” but only to harass, assault, and murder American citizens. Mr. Valentine needed help and was murdered in cold blood instead. Police are not your friends and not part of your community and only a fool would call police for help. Let Mr. Valentine’s life remind you of that next time you call 911 for help, as he did.
