Arizona D.O.C. Interim Director Charles L. Ryan (L) and Mr. Anant Kumar Tripati (R)

Arizona Department of Corrections Interim Director Charles Ryan may soon be wearing the same orange jumpsuit as his nemesis, Mr. Anant Kumar Tripati.

Those of you who instantly believe everyone in prison is guilty of some disgusting, heinous crime need not read any further. More than 60 percent of U.S. prisoners are incarcerated for non-violent, victimless crimes.

Mr. Tripati is a prisoner-of-war, a pawn of former (and now current Interim) Maricopa County attorney Rick Romley. Tripati has already served 19 years of a 52.5 year prison sentence for a victimless “crime” that caused no property damage nor any other damages. It is also a crime Tripati did not commit.

Mr. Tripati must pay thousands of dollars in filing fees to even submit any further appeals of the wrongful, illegal conviction. The Arizona Supreme Court, Arizona Attorney General’s Office, and ADOC are collaborating to enforce a de-facto prison tax on a prisoner.

Mr. Tripati said of the ADOC “they are like cockroaches, the executive staff.  They resent light being shined on their scheming actions.”

DARYL JOHNSON

He is the Legal Services Monitor of the ADOC. Johnson has openly advocated “firewalling” Mr. Tripati and blocking him from any and all access to the court system. He also put it in writing, via a September 2, 2008 memo here, and another memo from Ryan.

These documents, and many others you will see throughout this article, have been deemed “forged” and/or “fake” by Ryan, despite the Criminal Investigations Unit (CIU) of the ADOC determining there was no probable cause to prosecute Mr. Tripati on forgery charges. In other words, the documents are authentic.

Several Assistant Arizona Attorneys General, including Michael L. Broadsky, Susanna Pineda, James Morrow, Paul Carter, Michael O’Toole, and Kelly J. Morrissey have also made certain, through their actions or lack thereof, that Mr. Tripati will never be heard by any court anytime soon.

Gene Greeley

He is the ADOC Facilities Health Administrator (FHA).  He, along with Ryan and Johnson (see the above memos), seized most of Mr. Tripati’s property in late 2008 and early 2009. Greeley later “lost” medical records that authorized Mr. Tripati to receive a diet that conformed to his Hindu principles and food allergies.

Greeley attempted to get Mr. Tripati to re-submit to food allergy testing after these medical records were “lost.” This would have exposed Tripati to inherent danger as the “medical” people in the ADOC are known to experiment on patients to satisfy sadistic urges. Mr. Tripati lost over 60 pounds in a matter of a few months, and his blood pressure dipped to death levels because he did not get his Hindu diet. Ryan, again, covered for his goons (see the July 7, 2009 memo HERE).

Tripati is not the only inmate who ADOC is trying to murder by withholding their special needs diets. There are many diabetics who are not getting a diet that can realistically sustain them. We’ve obtained a short list of inmates (and their prison numbers) who are either extremely sick and/or close to dying because of ADOC medical malfeasance.

Algeri – 240165; Bernez – 138169; Sorensen – 245055; West – 242833; White – 026187; Lee  – 070819; Muse – 044423; Padilla – 166049; Parley – 213037; Pearle – 048880;  Raschid – 054257; Resends – 079519; Robinoff – 146818; Sanders – 173372; Furgeson – 170640; Gonzales – 043138; Gould – 232964; Griffin – 085110; Hernandez – 170854; Holleman – 152258; Leafty – 117658; Bomar – 101907; Cardenas – 038724; Carter – 130890; Coronado – 099387; Escarena – 144276; Black – 200625

This list does not include those who have already died as a result of being denied insulin and/or low sugar and starch diets as diabetics.

The officer in charge of property – a female named M. Felix – was the one who “lost” the records, in following Johnson and Greeley’s orders. It was discovered by Mr. Tripati that Felix was also involved in smuggling cell phones and drugs into the prison in exchange for money from prisoners.

We’ve learned from another source that Felix also did sexual favors for inmates in exchange for money. It is common knowledge in the prison that the money Felix earned from her criminal activities was used to buy a new Ford truck, which from what we understand, she is driving to this day. Though Mr. Tripati showed hard evidence of Felix’s criminal acts, she was simply moved to another unit as “punishment,” as opposed to being prosecuted and/or fired.

Deputy Warden Keith Hartsuck

He currently oversees the Cimarron Unit in the Arizona State Prison Complex in Tucson. Hartsuck somehow “found” some of the “lost” property seized from Mr. Tripati after more than 20 other ADOC employees could find nothing. Hartsuck, in other words, had the property the whole time. Once it was determined that no criminal charges for forgery could be pressed against Tripati, Hartsuck told Mr. Tripati, in an April 2, 2010 memo that since he could not get to Tripati criminally, that he would instead, “use internal prison proceedings to interfere with pending judicial proceedings.”

Tripati has had his phone privileges shortened since that time, has been locked in solitary confinement for god-knows how long, and was charged with an internal “major violation” of  forgery, despite there being no probable cause to criminally prosecute. This was all done at the direction and encouragement of Hartsuck and Ryan.

It is the goal of Ryan and his goons to make sure Mr. Tripati does not survive to get too much more of the story out, as far as what goes on behind those prison walls. Yes, the people behind those bars are prisoners, all of whom have an Eighth Amendment right to be free from cruel and unusual punishment.

Props to Arizona state Senator Paula Aboud, D – Tucson,  who has contacted Ryan about her concerns over the human rights violations going on in those prisons.

People across the country are making a big fuss right now about the new Arizona immigration law (SB1070) which basically codified racial profiling in the state. But this law is far from new. This has been Maricopa County attorney Rick Romley’s goal since the late 1980s, and Mr. Tripati is now sitting in jail for discovering this in the early 1990s.

Mr. Tripati is a victim of a fascist government in Arizona and now can only hope he survives long enough for somebody in power to hear him. President Obama has proven to be scared of Maricopa County Sheriff Joseph M. Arpaio and is apparently scared to use his power as President to inform Arizona they are violating nearly every article of the U.S. Constitution in their continual mass murder, incarceration, and persecution of average citizens whom are all mostly non-“white.”

We will continue updating this story as we learn more. Please visit the links below to donate to the Tripati Legal Defense Fund and to read more about the persecution of Tripati.

Hang in there, Anant. We’re listening, and waiting for the day Charles Ryan is indicted on murder and human rights violations. But this is the United Police States of America, so none of us should hold our breath.

This is so messed up. It’s a prime example of why I just can’t stand to read the news. Oh man.
